Tire Pressure

As the tire pressure is closely related to driving safety, the tire pressure must be checked regularly. Proper maintenance can prolong the service life of tires. The importance of tire pressures and how to check the pressure are shown below.

Importance of Tire Pressure

Optimum air pressure should be maintained to ensure safety, driving performance, tire life and low fuel consumption.

Tire Pressure Status

Low air pressure: It causes an increase of the contact patch width, and then applies excessive force to the tread edge, eventually reducing the life expectation of each part of the tire. In addition, it also contributes to an increased slope of the sidewall compared with optimum air pressure.

High air pressure: Due to the inflated shape of the tire, like a balloon, the force is focused on the center. The uneven force generated on the ground surface can cause irregular wear of the tread.

Checking for Optimum Tire Pressure

PALLYKING recommends that you check your tire pressure once a month.

The optimum air pressure can be found on the inner side of the car door or in the car manual.

The number on the tire sidewall means the maximum tire pressure. Therefore, do not apply tire pressure above it.

How to Check Tire Pressure

Purchase a certified air pressure detector or take your vehicle to a nearby service centre for inspection.

Tires must be checked in a “cold” state (at least three hours after driving).

3) Insert the gauge into the valve.

4) Compare the measured values with the standard tire pressure values.

 - If the measured figure is higher release air until the figure matches what is listed on the car door.

 - If the measured figure is lower insert more air until the figure matches what is listed on the car door.
