European powers refuse to lift tariffs on Chinese tires

Release Time :2022-07-08

A few days ago, the Court of Justice of the European Union canceled the "double-reverse" tariffs imposed on Chinese imported truck and bus tires.

This good news about foreign trade has inspired many domestic tire manufacturers.

But according to the latest news, the UK Trade Remedy Agency (TRA) has no plans to remove these tariffs.

The reasoning is that the UK has already left the EU, and the ruling of the European Court of Justice cannot sway their decisions.

To get rid of the tariffs, you need to wait for the group to review the trade remedies left over before Brexit.

The tariffs will continue until at least November 2023, pending such a review.

According to the tire world network, the United Kingdom is one of the most important countries for China's tire exports.

In 2021, the post-Brexit UK will reduce tire tariffs from 4.5% to 4.0%;

The tariff on industrial solid tires was reduced from 2.5% to 2.0%.

It is reported that the United States has always used the UK-US trade agreement as a bargaining chip, requiring that the tariffs formulated by the UK must reach a consensus between the two countries.
